Making Dance Together with Fiddlehead Soup @Paganfest July 17-22 2019
Earthy and approachable, Fiddlehead Soup presents music sourced from 3 continents and 5 centuries. Playing songs and tunes from Scandinavia, Northern Europe, Scotland & Ireland, they skillfully weave in their own artfully constructed tunes and songs. Fans of Omnia and Faun may recognize some familiar melodies among the band’s repertoire! I for one cant wait until they are gracing our stages. You may have had the opportunity to hear how awesome they are @ Wiccafest. (one of my favorite pagan festivals I mean outside of ours lol)
Dance has always been at the center of community life. There is a special bond between people who dance together, a special joy in expressing yourself but at the same time being part of something larger than you.
Fiddlehead Soup will lead a dance workshop focusing on dances we do together. Some of these date from the Renaissance (but are probably much older) and some date from more recent times (that would be the 1800s!). Some are mime dances (where we play a role in a tale) and some are circle dances; some we dance with a partner or two, some we dance with many partners, but all are fun and not technically difficult.
For those who love to dance, we welcome you. But we especially welcome those who have always thought they “can’t dance”, because we will show you that you can and we earnestly want you to be able to share in the joy of it. Enthusiasm is always more important than experience!
Let’s all dance, together!

This workshop will take place around 4pm Friday, July 19th.
