Goddesses Juno & Hera

The month of June was named for the queen of the Roman goddesses, Juno. She was also known as Hera, in Greek mythology. They are the goddess of marriage and childbirth, although ironically both had marriages plagued with many affairs by their partners Jupiter & Zeus.

Both are represented by a peacock and the cow.

One of her priestesses was found with her partner which prompted her into a great rage, this forced her partner to transformed the woman into a white cow, in order to defeat the jealous rage of Juno/Hera. However that did not stop her from finding her and when she did, the priestess was fastened to an olive-tree in the grove.

Argus Panoptes was the man who helped her as he had a hundred eyes, he never closed more than two at a time so kept continuous guard of the priestesses Io. However, by the command of Jupiter / Zeus, Mercury succeeded in putting all his eyes to sleep with the sound of his magic lyre, killing him. In honour of the services Argus had rendered her, she placed his eyes on the tail of a peacock, as a lasting memorial of her gratitude towards him.

Women to this day hold Juno / Hera in deep respect especially during pregnancy and birth as she protects all mothers. For those having difficulty getting pregnant she is most definitely the one to invoke for added support and success. She might even be a good source of support in order to help you catch any woman messing with your partner.
